Mixolydian mode (uncountable)

  1. (music) a mode whose scale is the same as a major key with the seventh scale degree lowered by one half step, with the interval pattern:
    tone - tone - semitone - tone - tone - semitone - tone.
    Starting on the note C, this produces a scale with the notes C, D, E, F, G, A, B♭, C.
