Etymology

Compound of M(エム) (emu, first letter of English middle or Japanese 真(ま)ん中(なか) (mannaka, “middle; center”)) + J(ジェー)C(シー) (jēshī, “female middle school student”). It was probably inspired by F(エフ)J(ジェー)K(ケー) (efujēkē), M(エム)J(ジェー)K(ケー) (emujēkē), and L(エル)J(ジェー)K(ケー) (erujēkē), which were widely used after broadcasting of Bay Storm by Kazunari Ninomiya.
