- A growing town in northwestern Albania, located 5-6 km southeast of Shëngjin slightly northeast of the southern mouth of the river Drin (Small Drin), which passes through the town; the town is best known for being one of the former centres of the Illyrian kingdom and for its typically Illyrian fortification walls; it is the seat of its eponymous county, municipality and municipal unit.
