[edit]Presumably from initial letter I of the English imagine or if and the sign 1@NearSfhead-PalmDown 1@Sfhead-PalmDown (“think”).
Production
[edit]- This one-handed ASL sign is produced as follows:
- Posture the dominant hand in the “I” handshape at the dominant side of the forehead, near the temple, dominant palm facing back.
- Move the hand forward to the next posture.
- Posture the dominant hand in the “I” handshape within a few inches of the dominant side of the forehead, near the temple, dominant palm facing back.
