[edit]All from (a reflex of) Old Dutch *hēsi (“brushwood”) + wijk.
- (Bernheze) Potentially attested as essuic in 1076-1081, attested with certainty as hesewich in 1196. Currently part of the twin village of Heeswijk-Dinther.
- (Land van Cuijk) Attested as Heeswijk in 1838-1857.
- (Utrecht) First attested as hesewic and hesewik in 1204.
