Green Mountain boy (plural Green Mountain boys)

  1. A member of the Vermont National Guard.
  2. (historical) A member of a militia organization established in 1770 in the territory between the British provinces of New York and New Hampshire, instrumental in resisting New York's attempts to control the territory.
