Etymology
[edit]From dienvidslāvs (“Southern Slav, Yugoslav”) + -ija, a calque of Serbo-Croatian Југославија (Jugoslavija), from the words југ (jug, “south”) and Славен, Словен (slaven, sloven, “Slav”).
