which English proverb is more common for что имеем, не храним, потерявши, плачем?
[edit]A recently deleted entry что имеем, не храним, потерявши, плачем didn't have a usable content but I couldn't find the English equivalent here:
Here are some English equivalents, which one is the most common?:
- the cow knows not what her tail is worth till she has lost it
- we know not what is good until we have lost it
- we never know the value of water till the well is dry
- we think it's too cheap until we lose it and weep
- when the pinch comes, you remember the old shoe --Anatoli 01:34, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
