Category talk:Pseudo-anglicisms by language

I initially created these with these titles because it seemed more common to speak of "pseudo-Latinisms" than "pseudo-loans from Latin", etc... but this means people have to figure out the right "-ism" any time they find a pseudo-borrowing, and the names are not intuitive ("French" but "Gallicism"; "Arabic" but "Arabism" not "Arabicism"; what do you call an Afrikaans pseudo-loan from Xhosa?). I have come to suspect the categories should be renamed to just systematically plug in language names like "(Borrower language) pseudo-loans from (donor)", "Pseudo-loans from (donor) by language", like other derivation categories. - -sche (discuss) 07:57, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
