Proto-West Germanic consonant stem nouns.

These nouns are masculine, feminine or rarely neuter, typically with the following endings:

  • in the nominative singular: the bare stem;
  • in the genitive singular: -i (with Germanic umlaut of roots in -e-);
  • in the nominative plural: -i (with Germanic umlaut of roots in -e-).

The stem classes are named from the perspective of Proto-Germanic and may not still be visible in Proto-West Germanic inflections.
