[edit]Possibly from Old English Boilestun (“Boghyll farm”). From Boghylles, the gentitive singular form made up of Old English boga (“bow”) + hyll ("hill") combined with tūn ("farm"). All three elements synthesize to a meaning of "rounded hill farm".
