Etymology
[edit]From bergugle + berg. The alternative forms are from bergule (old form of bergugle).
The component -ugl- is common in Trøndelag toponyms (see e.g. Kattugla). In one of the cases it is derived from earlier -augl- with unknown meaning, attested since Old Norse period, but it is rather an exeption from the rule, while mountain names connected to birds are common in Norway (compare e.g. Falkenuten).

- A hill in Orkland, Trøndelag, Norway, between Fagerli and Løkken Verk. Not high itself, it is located on the plateau between Løkken and Orkla, so its top is 330 m above sea level, while Løkken center is just 150. According to legends, the first discovery of copper ore in the mine area was made on this mountain.
- A mountain in Verdal, Trøndelag, at the Steine fortifications.
- A cliff in Orkland, at the Resvatn lake, close to Vålåskaret
- A small mountain in Steinkjer, in forests of Brunstad (on the northern side of Snåsavatnet)
