Appendix talk:Proto-Slavic Swadesh list
Add topicI was just thinking of writing this! lol --Ivan Štambuk (talk) 15:58, 27 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Ivan Štambuk well, actually i started working in August 2014 (i got idea from PIE Swadesh). But it doesn't mean that i worked everyday. :) In 27 October i just decided to finish this list (~30 words). Anyway it's good that now we have this list. Seems only 2 Proto-Languages (PIE and PS) have here Swadesh list. —Игорь Телкачь 19:22, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
By the way, about the words. I didn't used words with partial meaning, so if English word isn't alone in PS meaning then i don't put PS word in the list (unless there is no word with exactly same meaning e.g. "stick" or it's unite two English words e.g. *tu (“here; there”)). Some list of inappropriate words: *děti (“do, say”), *mъlviti (“speak, say”), *reťi (“speak, say”). Also as you can see i didn't find PS equivalent for "stick". I just want to keep clarity. If i knew more than one PS dictionary with word meaning, the word list probably would be wider. —Игорь Телкачь 20:05, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
- ESSJa volumes available on the Internet have been OCR-ed so you can search for meanings inside the PDF (I have them combined in one 388MB file). There is also this paper. --Ivan Štambuk (talk) 20:59, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
