Appendix talk:Mongolian Swadesh list
Add topicrequired changes
[edit]The list should be converted into Cyrillic with Roman transliteration as in Wiktionary:Mongolian_transliteration. See also Appendix:Cyrillic_script#Mongolian_alphabet. If the word is used in Inner Mongolia only, they should be marked as such, e.g. эх (ex), ээж (eež); eji (Inner Mongolia), etc. --Anatoli 00:40, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
- In Inner Mongolia Cyrillic is not used at all. Neither writing system is truly phonetic for Mongolian but the traditional script is less so as it reflects Classical Mongolian pronunciation to a greater degree, making it of particular interest in a Swadesh list. — hippietrail (talk) 14:25, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
How on earth do I add more language columns?
[edit]Even after reading some online help on wikitext table editing I can't figure this out. It's as if some of it is obscured by templates. Where can I read about how to edit these Swadesh lists?
I wanted to add two new columns with just one entry each for now under the row "new":
- Buryat "шэнэ"
- Kalmyk "шин"

[edit]As of right now, this Swadesh list is completely uncited. Does anyone know where the original Mongolian wordlist came from? SyntaxW02TheThird (talk) 04:07, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
