The sitelen pona glyph is composed of the color radical (a triangle), which itself may be representing a prism, and lines radiating out for unclear reasons. Perhaps made to the reverse of pimeja. Compare jelo, laso, loje, pimeja.

Etymology

From Finnish valko- (white). Also similar to the Finnish word valo (light).
