Etymology
[edit]Gikun word derived by applying Chinese-derived spelling 天空 (“sky, air”), a term which decomposes into 天 (“the sky, the heavens”) + 空 (“air, sky”), to native Japanese word そら (sora, “sky air, heaven”).
