Pseudo-Ancient Greek, seemingly formed as ἀλκή (alkḗ, strength) +‎ -ιμος (-imos, -ible) +‎ ἀρχός (arkhós, leader). Compare Alcēsimus (a name Plautus uses in Casina), also Greek ἄλκιμος (álkimos), Ἄλκηστις (Álkēstis).
