-eceğim

1. Suffix of verb "to be" in future tense for subject "I".

   Öl+eceğim = Öleceğim ― I will die

Usage notes

• It is used when the word's last vowel is "e", "ö", "i" or "ü".
• If the last vowel is "a", "o", "ı" or "u", it usually changes to -acağım.
• With some verbs which have "t" as the last consonant of the stem, the "t" is changed to "d".

  giteceğim is incorrect, it must be gideceğim (“I will go”)

  eteceğim is incorrect, it must be edeceğim (“I will do”)

• If the verb stem ends in a vowel, "-y" must be added:

  söyle+y+eceğim = söyleyeceğim ― I will tell

• It's exclusively pronounced as if -icem, -ücem, -iycem

  geleceğim → /ɟe.li.dʒeːm/ (standard), /ɟe.lɛ.dʒɛm/ (dialectal)

  göreceğim → /ɟø.ɾy.dʒeːm/ (standard), /ɟø.ɾɛ.dʒɛm/ (dialectal)

  bekleyeceğim → /bec.liːdʒeːm/ (standard), /bec.lɛ.je.dʒɛm/ (dialectal)
