๐ ๐๐ญ
Appearance
Luwian
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Per Kloekhorst, from Proto-Anatolian *mรณn or similar; cognate with Lycian ๐๐ (mแบฝ, โas; so, likewiseโ), Hittite ๐ ๐๐ญ (ma-a-an /โ mฤnโ /, โlike, as, how; if, wheneverโ) and Palaic ๐ ๐๐ญ (ma-a-an /โ mฤnโ /, โwhenโ). The Proto-Anatolian word is of uncertain but probably Proto-Indo-European origin: further compare Old Irish mรก (โwhenโ), Tocharian A mรคnt (โhow?โ), Tocharian B mant (โsoโ, conj.) and perhaps Ancient Greek ฮผฮญฮฝ (mรฉn, โwhile, soโ).
