Etymology
[edit]Perhaps an ancient Mesopotamian Wanderwort. Some scholars have seen this word as part of the Euphratic substrate hypothesis, which connects it to Proto-Indo-European *hโรฉวตros (โfieldโ). Compare also Akkadian ๐๐ผ (ugฤrum) and Ugaritic ๐๐๐ (แปงgr).
Noun
