Inherited from Proto-Turkic *tür(ü)k + *-če. By surface analysis, 𐾀𐽳𐽶𐽾𐽷 (twyrk) +‎ -𐽽𐽰 (-cʾ), nominalized, equative form of 𐾀𐽳𐽶𐽾𐽷 (Türk) (as in, "[speaking] like a Turk"). Cognate with Old Turkic 𐱅𐰇𐰼𐰜 (t²ür²k̥), Turkish Türkçe.
