Inherited from Common Turkic *kaŋlï (cart),[1] ultimately from Tocharian A klānk- (to ride). Cognate with Turkish kağnı, Karakhanid قَنكْلٖى (qaŋlï), Kipchak قكلى (qanlï) and Khakas хаңаа (xañaa).
