[edit]Derived from Proto-Turkic *köŕ (“eye”), equivalent to 𐰚𐰇𐰔𐰤 (közün-, “to be seen, to be visible”) + 𐰏𐰇 (-gü). Cognate with Azerbaijani güzgü (“mirror”), Uzbek koʻzgu, Bashkir көҙгө (köźgö, “mirror”).
