Etymology

Derived from Proto-Turkic *āb (hunt, chase), equivalent to 𐰉 (ab, hunt) +‎ 𐰞𐰀 (-la). Cognate with, Turkish avlamak. Compare also Manchu ᠠᠪᠠᠯᠠᠮᠪᡳ (abalambi).
