Etymology

[edit]

From πŒΏπ†πŒ°π‚- (ufar-) +‎ πŒΌπŒΉπ„π‰πŒ½ (mitōn), but the interpretation and reading of this word, which occurs only once, is disputed. Another interpretation is that this in fact represents two words, the preposition πŒΏπ†πŒ°π‚ (ufar) and the (accusative singular of the) noun πŒΌπŒΉπ„π‰πŒ½πƒ (mitōns), yielding a meaning of "above the intention"; cf. Lehmann (1986).
