Disputed. Guus Kroonen proposes a metathesis of earlier *πŒΉπ…πŒΆπŒΉπƒ (*iwzis) with the -z- (resulting from Verner's law) imported from πŒΏπŒ½πƒπŒΉπƒ (unsis).[1]
