Apparently a past participle or verbal adjective to a verb very close to 𐌰𐌽𐌳𐌸𐌰𐌲𐌺𐌾𐌰𐌽 (andΓΎagkjan). Proto-Germanic *ΓΎanhtaz (β€œthought, idea”) is closely related but is a noun, whereas this is an adjective. This etymology is incomplete.
