[edit]Probably 쇠 (soe, “bovine, of cattle”) + 뜯 (tteut, “to pluck, to graze”) + 기 (-gi, nominalizer): "that grazed by cattle".
The plant is a common weed in fields where cattle graze. Cattle do not actually prefer this plant.
