[edit]Equivalent to 설 (seol, “Lunar New Year”) + 빔 (bim, “(wearing) new clothes for a holiday”), where the second component is from Middle Korean 비ᅀᅳ (pìzù-, “to adorn”) + 음〮 (úm, nominalizer). Compare nonstandard 설비음 (seolbieum) and dialectal 설비슴 (seolbiseum).
