[edit]Sino-Korean word from 木曜日, from 木曜 (“Jupiter”) + 日 (“day”), from Latin dies Jovis (“day of Jupiter”), through Indian astrology in the fifth century as बॄहस्पतिवार (bṝhaspativāra, “of the planet Jupiter”) into Buddhist astrology in the eighth century as 木曜日.
