[edit]Sino-Korean word from 金曜日, from 金曜 (“Venus”) + 日 (“day”), from Latin dies Veneris (“day of Venus”), through Indian astrology in the fifth century as Sanskrit भॄगुवार (bhṝguvāra, “of the planet Venus”) into Buddhist astrology in the eighth century as 金曜日.
