- (Teuthonista) A uvular vocalic 'r' (IPA: [ʁ]).
Usage notes
[edit]In italics, this looks like a cursive ⟨𝓇⟩ (right). However, because Teuthonista is nearly always typeset in italics, there is no standard roman form. Proposals at the 1925 Copenhagen Conference include a reversed r; others resemble the Tironian et ⟨⁊⟩ and a small turned 2 ⟨↊⟩. The latter was used in the 1949 Principles of the IPA (as suggested notation for a voiceless [r̥]), and so is the form used above.
