In Korea, the component on top of 龹 (also known as 倒八字, inverted character) is written instead of , similar to the form found in the Kangxi dictionary. In Japan, characters with 龹 as a component (hyōgai kanji, jinmeiyō kanji and kyūjitai forms of jōyō kanji) are written with on top while shinjitai kanji and jōyō kanji are written with on top.
