[edit]Qing-era transliteration of Manchu ᠴᡝᠴᡝᠨ (cecen), in turn from Classical Mongolian ᠴᠡᠴᠡᠨ (čečen), an assimilated variant of ᠰᠡᠴᠡᠨ (sečen, “smart”). Doublet of 薛禪 / 薛禅.
