Usage notes
[edit]- In Taiwan, people usually just use the Hokkien name for the dish (approximately é'ājiān in pinyin) even when speaking Mandarin.
- In the Philippines, it is more often called oyster cake in English-language menus in Chinese restaurants, but when speaking Hokkien, people use the Hokkien name of the dish.
