[edit]From 自由の女神 (Jiyū no Megami, “Lady Liberty”) + 像 (zō, “statue”), literally “Statue of the Goddess of Liberty”. Compare Chinese 自由女神像 (Zìyóunǚshénxiàng), Korean 자유의 여신상 (Jayuui Yeosinsang), Vietnamese Tượng Nữ thần Tự do.
