[edit]In Hokkien, when used as a verb to express an ability to understand a language, see 聽有/听有 (thiaⁿ-ū / thiaⁿ-ǔ, “to understand by listening”), 會講/会讲 (ē-kóng / ě-kóng, “to be able to speak”), 會讀/会读 (ē-tha̍k / ě-tha̍k, “to know how to read”), or 會曉學/会晓学 (ě-hiáu-o̍h, “to know how to imitate or do something”).
