Usage notes
[edit]The term 纜車/缆车 (lǎnchē) only refers to funicular railways in Mainland China but can refer to both types of cable cars in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Hanging cable cars are called 索道 (suǒdào) in Mainland China or alternatively 吊車/吊车 (diàochē) in Hong Kong.
