[edit]The eight counties were Haiyang (海陽/海阳, renamed Chao'an 潮安 in 1914), Chaoyang (潮陽/潮阳), Raoping (饒平/饶平), Puning (普寧/普宁), Chenghai (澄海), Huilai (惠來/惠来), Fengshun (豐順/丰顺), and Jieyang (揭陽/揭阳).
