Etymology
[edit]Unknown. Perhaps from 耳付く (literally “eared”), from 耳 (mimi, “ear”) + 付く (tsuku, “to be attached with”), in reference to the hair that resembles ears on the head. The kanji are jukujikun (熟字訓).
