[edit]Compound of 暮れ (kure, “darkening, setting of the sun”, the 連用形 (ren'yōkei, “continuative or stem form”) of verb 暮れる (kureru, “to get dark, to sunset”)) + 泥む (nazumu, “to be on the verge of something happening”).[1][2]
