Usage notes
[edit]- 日語/日语 (Rìyǔ) is more commonly used in spoken Mandarin, whilst 日文 (Rìwén) is more commonly used in written texts. Like Nihongo in English, 日本語/日本语 (Rìběnyǔ) is usually restricted to linguistic and language learning contexts.
