Derived from the polite, presumptive-volitional form of the humble Okinawan verb 拝(をぅが)むん (wugamun) or 拝(をぅが)ぬん (wuganun), meaning "to worship" or "to see" (cf. standard 拝(おが)む (ogamu)).
