- 爾何知!中壽,爾墓之木拱矣! [Classical Chinese, trad.]
- From: Commentary of Zuo, c. 4th century BCE
- Ěr hé zhī! Zhōngshòu, ěr mù zhī mù gǒng yǐ! [Pinyin]
- What do you know! Had you, old thing, died at an average age, trees by your grave would have grown larger trunks than what could be embraced with both arms!
