Usage notes
[edit]Song dynasty scholars call Old Chinese phonology 古音 (gǔyīn) and Middle Chinese phonology 今音 (jīnyīn). Now the former is called 上古音 and the latter 中古音, the two collectively referred to as 古音 (gǔyīn).
