Etymology
[edit]From Sanskrit खरोष्ठी (kharoṣṭhī). In the Middle Chinese period, various translation were used, including 佉留 (MC khja ljuw) [308] for the first two syllables and 佉盧虱吒 (MC khja lu srit traeH) [late 6th century].
