Lua error in Module:kanjitab at line 296: The yomi type "jukujikun" is only applicable to compound character readings, so cannot apply to 五 read as い. If this is intended as part of a jukujikun reading, please enter the whole reading as one, followed by the number of kanji it applies to.

Etymology

/isodi/ → /isozi/. Shift from earlier いそち (isochi),[1] which is from Old Japanese, a compound of 五十 (iso, thirty) +‎ (chi, a suffix derived from (tsu), an Old Japanese counter). The -chi changes to -ji as an instance of rendaku (連濁).
