[edit]Of 一 (ichi) + 都 (to) + 三 (san) + 県 (ken), literally “one to [and] three ken”, in reference to Tokyo (東京都 (Tōkyō to)), Kanagawa, Chiba, and Saitama (県 (ken)) prefectures.
