[edit]From Dutch brandpunt.[1][2][3] Originally borrowed as ブランドピュント (burandopyunto) as listed in the 1861 edition of 写真鏡図説 (Shashinkyō Zusetsu, “The Illustrated Camera”) by Yanagawa Shunsan (1832–1870),[4] and later shortened to just ピント (pinto).
