Compound of こちらこそ +‎ ありがとうございます, literally, “it is I who should be thankful”.

Phrase

こちらこそありがとうございます • (kochirakoso arigatō gozaimasu)

Usage notes

• Used in the context of mutually beneficial actions, such as selling and buying. When the speaker alone did something to be thanked, どう致(いた)しまして (dō itashimashite) may be used instead.
